PR Web allows trackbacks… a bad thing?
Already published a few days ago, but PR Web (Press Release Newswire) added the option of trackbacks.
PRWeb, the experts in Direct-to-Consumer press release distribution and the leading press release visibility company, announces the availability of TrackBacks within press releases featured on the PRWeb newswire. By allowing inbound TrackBack “pings,” PRWeb is the first press release newswire to enable and encourage press release interaction and commentary from the blogosphere. This latest feature enables bloggers to directly link press release content commentary to the press releases on the PRWeb site.
I am doubting that this is going to be contributing to for instance Adsense ads. As it seems that Google is changing strategy concerning articles that are being reproduced and re-quoted throughout the net, these trackbacks might cause a nice link-stream to trace this phenomenon.
On the other hand it stimulates to copy less and be more creative. Personally I always try to get as close to the source as possible, but a site like PR Web is tempting to get info quickly. Besides that, there are still a lot of corporate sites that do not have a dedicated showcase for press-releases.
Experience will tell.
