For some reason I did not follow 9rules lately and was surprised to see the major renewal.

Biggest addition to this already quite impressive site is the my.9r section, which confirms that also 9rules has chosen the path of social networking…

my.9rules is defined as:

Your Choices - my.9rulesAs 9rules expands we realize that sorting through so much content can be challenged. my.9rules was created to give readers tools to customize their 9rules experience, define their presence and interact with 9rules members and readers.

• Top 9 - these are your favorite 9rules members or my.9rules users. These can be edited at any time. If your Top 9 choice has an RSS feed listed in their my.9rules profile, their latest entries will show on your profile page
• Last.fm/del.icio.us/Flickr - Add their content to your profile. For the first time you can define your presence at 9rules.
• Your Site Entries - Add your site entries to your profile. More eyes looking at your content is a good thing.
• Friends - Make friends with 9rules members and my.9rules users. If the request for friend status is accepted you can send private messages and keep up with their Notes or site content.
• Favorites - Do you enjoy a 9rules content? Is there a Note you’d like to keep track of? You can mark these as favorites and management as necessary.
• 9rules Notes - Start and participate in discussions throughout the 9rules Communities.

Interesting development and IMHO a valuable addition to this already strong network.
