Thumb pad on those translators. A board that is about the size of an A5 pad would be perfect or one of those flip out ones you can get for palms. But Palm is too expensive and has too many bits I dont need. Just a TEXT EDITOR! How hard can that BE!?

Hahaha... No for real, I am already busy with too many things, this would be a bit over the edge.

But the thought is interesting. Still, personlly I would love to have a secondhand ibook 12", maxxed out, put ubuntu on it and carry it with me. For on the road blogging I would always prefer a full-size keyboard over a thumb-board.

It is a nice piece of kit but still doesn't fit all the criteria - too expensive for a start. How difficult can it be to make a text writer that is cheap and cool!

Indeed, I have not yet had the pleasure of buying one! [they should be here somewhere in March '07, costing way too much...]

The ultimate blogging tool... I think you would end-up with something like a Flybook. But those are really expensive.

Cheap: get a 12 inch (or less) secondhand laptop with the characteristics you want and run ECTO on it... Then you can prepare your posts and when you hook up to the internet you can post all at once.

Is there a device that I can use that is perhaps not a phone but is just a blogging tool, which I can use to write stuff up on the road?I travel a load but usually I get to places where I can upload and ideally I want something I can write with that's lightweight and cheap and has a decent keyboard for writing text, on the cheap. Does this ultimate blogging tool exist?

Since he's waiting for the N95, he prob hasn't bought one yet. One more you should consider, Jan, is the E90. It's just been announced in 3GSM. Might also interest you.

It has been a while but in the meantime I have made up my mind... I will buy the Nokia N95 as soon as it is available.

Then, the only concession I am doing is not having a full qwerty keyboard... but the features on this device are simply amazing. And the built in GPS and mapping software really shows off.

jan, i have the same problem as you. but i also want 3g amd wifi not so much as we have few free wifi in my country. i was also considering the m600 but it looks hard to use. my one of my friends recommended the e62. no pocket pc phone for you? that would solve my problem but the prices of those units are way over my budget.

I thought you definitely didn’t want a Nokia?

You are right... but fact is that with what I want I simply do not have much options, and this Nokia's S60 software offers enough possibilities for personal tweaking.

Read a lot of reviews on the P990i and I was really disappointed, as well as many of its users... way too buggy software.

Another thing is that this keyboard is a real plus.

We will see. Have not taken the final decision, yet.

Okay, as SonyEricsson simply is not providing what I am looking for, I think I am going to settle for the Nokia E70...

Does anybody have experience with this phone?
Please share!
