Stepping out… into a different world.

Sitting in a metro in Paris, I was suddenly pulled out of the rush, rumble and noise of the working and hurrying people… by an a cappella singing voice. A muslim woman was singing for money, but with such a clear and penetrating voice, that for me, all other noise was put to the background. It really was amazing and very touching, even for me not understanding what she was singing about. Being drawn from your surroundings at such a moment, really puts you in a position to re-think and re-feel your status-quo. Which is really beautiful. I wonder why this does not happen more often, because it really allows you to balance your body and soul.

Are we being numbed by our daily routines and do we therefor neglect those signaling voices?
